FAQ
Golf simulator business questions, answered
What venue owners ask us about booking software, switching systems and running a simulator business.
Choosing booking software
What should golf simulator booking software do?
It should let customers book a bay from their phone, take payment or credits at booking, run memberships and packages, and show your front desk the day at a glance. The best tools also keep a record of every customer so you can follow up after the visit, not just take the booking.
What is the difference between a scheduler and a golf simulator platform?
A scheduler books time slots. A golf simulator platform understands bays, lessons, coaches, memberships with included hours, credits, and cancellation rules, and connects all of it to the customer record. Dink is built for simulator venues, so those pieces are part of the product, not workarounds.
Does Dink take a cut of my bookings?
No. Dink is a flat monthly price by bay count. Your card processor charges its normal processing fees, and text and email usage is billed at cost plus a small markup.
Do I have to replace my simulators or TrackMan software?
No. Dink runs your booking, memberships and customer side. Your simulators and their software stay exactly as they are.
Setting up and switching
How long does it take to switch booking systems?
After your consultation we send a short checklist the next business day. Once we have it, we do the setup with you: bays, hours, services, prices, membership plans and your member list. The timeline depends mostly on how fast we get your member list and payment account.
What do you need from me to set up my facility?
Your bays and hours, the services you sell and their prices, your membership plans, a member list export from your current system, your payment account, your logo and colors, and the domain you want booking emails to come from. We handle the rest.
Can I bring my members over from my current system?
Yes. On the Launch package we bring your members over from your current system's export, so they don't have to start from scratch.
Which payment processors does Dink work with?
Square today. Members pay by card when they book or buy a plan, and your front desk can still take payment at the counter.
Running your venue
How should I price golf simulator memberships?
Most venues sell a few tiers: a monthly plan with a set number of bay hours, a bigger plan with more hours and perks, and packages for lessons. Price the included hours below your walk in hourly rate so the plan is clearly worth it, and keep peak times for members if demand allows.
How do I fill empty weekday bays?
Give members a reason to book off peak: plans with weekday hours, lesson packages, leagues and clinics in slow windows, and a win back message to customers who haven't visited in a while. Dink's customer record shows who to invite, and the Growth package runs those campaigns for you.
How do I cut down on no shows and late cancellations?
Take payment or credits at booking, send confirmation and reminder emails, and set a clear cancellation policy. Dink applies your policy automatically, so late cancels follow your rules and early cancels get their credits back.
Should I sell credits or hourly bookings?
Both work, and most venues use both. Credits suit members and packages because they prepay and come back often. Hourly booking suits walk ins and groups. Dink runs both side by side, including separate credit types for bay time and lessons.
Can members book lessons and coaches in the same app?
Yes. Members book bays, lessons, swing evaluations and fittings in one app, choose a coach or let you assign one, and lesson credits come off the same way bay credits do.
Can I run more than one location?
Talk to us about it on your consultation. Dink is set up per venue, and we'll walk through how your locations, staff and members should be organized.
See if Dink fits your venue
A 30 minute consultation. We look at how you run things today and show you Dink on a demo venue. If it fits, we set your venue up with you.
